Overview

Pick-up in Lisbon City Center and heading to Fátima through the agricultural lands of Ribatejo. In Fátima you may be able to experience life as a pilgrim when you visit the Sanctuary of Fátima, one of the most important Christian sites with approximately 5 million visitors each year. After leaving Fátima we will make a short stop to see the stunning 14th century Batalha Monastery – UNESCO World Heritage Site. During lunch time, relax at the fishing town of Nazaré known for its variety of regional restaurants and cafés. Afterwards, a quick stop at the Nazaré cliffs to appreciate the marvelous view over the Atlantic Ocean! In the afternoon, enjoy the sea breeze as we drive along the Atlantic coast passing gorgeous cliffs and the picturesque villages of Foz do Arelho and São Martinho do Porto. Fall in love with Óbidos, a romantic medieval village, full of flowers. Get free time to explore the narrow streets, the castle walls and visit the handicraft and traditional souvenir shops and finish with a Ginja liqueur in a chocolate cup before heading back to Lisbon

  Fátima

  Heading to Fátima through the agricultural lands of Ribatejo. In Fatima experience life as a pilgrim when you visit the Sanctuary, one of the most important Christian sites with approximately 5 million visitors each year

  Capelinha das Aparições

  Stop by the Capelinha das Aparições. This is the true heart of the sanctuary: the exact place of the Virgins apparition is marked with a marble Column and Her image – Our Lady of Fátima. Have a look at the place where was a Holm oak tree: where the 3 little children waited for the apparition

  Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima

  Enjoy the Basílica de Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima: Built in the location were the 3 children were playing on the 13th of May of 1917. Inside you may find the tombs of all 3 children: Francisco, Jacinta and Lúcia

  Batalha Monastery

  Discover the stunning 14th century Batalha Monastery – In 1980 the monastery became a Museum and 3 years later was written into UNESCO’s list of World Heritage. Built by the initiative of D. João I of Portugal, in the sequence of a promise he made to Our Lady of Victory, should she choose to favor the Portuguese in the battle of Aljubarrota (1385) against the army of Castela

  Nazaré cliffs

  Take a photo at the top of the Nazaré cliffs with stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean and hear about the famous legend of D. Fuas Roupinho. The village maintains a strong and long tradition of fishing activity since its origin. It has an enormous variety of fish and seafood restaurants. Today it is better known as a summer retreat for the Portuguese. The women still wear the traditional fisherman clothing’s, consisting of 7 skirts (one for each day of the week), and widows wear black until their own death

  Relax at lunch in the fishing town of Nazaré, with a great variety of regional restaurants

  Foz do Arelho and São Martinho do Porto

  Enjoy the sea breeze as we drive along the Atlantic coast passing gorgeous cliffs and picturesque villages of Foz do Arelho and São Martinho do Porto. We stop in some great look-out places on top of the cliff for pictures

  Óbidos (romantic medieval village)

  Fall in love with Óbidos, a romantic medieval village, founded in 308 b.C. Get free time to explore the narrow streets, the castle walls and visit the handicraft and traditional souvenir shops. Entering the village of Óbidos is like going back in time, to when Óbidos was a great and important village, the one of the Queens. It’s a postcard villa, a living and breathing museum, thanks to its history and conservation. The traditional Ginja liquor in a chocolate cup is included
