Located on the shores of the Mediterranean, the city was created in 1859 during the construction of the Suez Canal. It has thrived for decades but its glory has faded a bit. The main attraction is the Suez Canal, with an elevated pedestrian promenade running along the waterfront. If you want to explore more, join us on a free excursion to Cairo and at the pyramids of Giza, the only one of the seven great wonders still present. You will join the ship at Port Said.
Today you will enjoy an ephemeral visit to the Holy Land. The diverse and modern city of Ashdod covers the territory of two ancient twin cities, it is the largest port in Israel and one of the oldest cities in the world. It was inhabited by the Philistines in Biblical times, and when they captured the ark of the covenant from the Israelites, they brought it here (although they had to return it.) Ashdod is only 33 kilometers from the historic city of Jerusalem. Tours can be arranged: to the Temple Mount, the Dome of the Rock, the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Via Dolorosa and other famous sites and buildings.
This bustling tourist center of Cyprus is bursting with character and history, especially the century-old Limassol Castle, home to the Medieval Cyprus Museum and its collection of pottery and tombstones. A short drive will take you to the iconic Aphrodite Rock and the magnificent Crusader Castle at Kolossi. The center of Limassol is full of cafes, bars and restaurants which are as popular with locals as with visitors
The Colossus of Rhodes, the third of our Seven Wonders, has already passed through the harbor, but it is long gone. You can visit the magnificent old town, a labyrinth of cobbled streets that will transport you to the Byzantine Empire and beyond. Don't miss the Knights' Quarter and the Palace of Grand Master
We arrive in Kuşadası in the morning and enjoy a full day in this colorful Turkish seaside town. It is the coastal gate to the Hellenistic ruins of Ephesus, famous for being the fourth of our Seven Wonders: the Temple of Artemis.
