Known for its frequent rainfall, London's climate ranges from average temperatures of 5° C in January to 25° C in July. Temperatures are cooler in May and October and warmer June-September. August can be very hot and humid. Take along an umbrella and sweater no matter when you go

Dressing

Since weather can be unpredictable and to be sure you are comfortable during your trip and prepared for all types of weather possibilities, we suggest that you carry a small folding umbrella or a poncho and take with you a light jacket or sweater. bring at least one pair of comfortable walking shoes, by all means. Finally, remember that comfort and convenience should dictate your wardrobe for the tour, and casual clothes are in order for most every occasion as you travel.

Credit Cards & Money

ATMs can be found throughout the city and are generally accessible 24 hours a day. Travelers can typically get the best exchange rate by withdrawing pounds at ATMs

Tipping
In restaurants and taxis, tip anywhere from 10-15% (12.5% is the norm). Some establishments include a service charge on the bill, so be sure to check first. Tipping at counter-service establishments, such as pubs, is optional, but always appreciated

Designer stores, national chaings, and specialized boutiques can be found along Bond Street, Oxford Street, and Kensington High Street. Booklovers and antique hounds will delight in the search for treasures in the shops that line Charing Cross Road

Photography

Cameras and video recorders are allowed almost everywhere, and in fact, you will want to take plenty of pictures of the magnificent panoramas you’ll encounter as you travel. Photography is generally permitted everywhere except at airports and military installations. Memory cards for digital cameras will also be readily available, especially in major cities
